Tico Software Buys DataSynapse

Business software developer Tibco Software on Monday said it has purchased DataSynapse for $28 million in cash.Privately held DataSynapse develops enterprise grid and cloud computing software, which lets companies lower capital expenditures by renting business software over the Internet. Co-founders Peter Lee and Jamie Bernardin will join Tibco and lead the growth of DataSynapse's business.
Tibco said the purchase complements its infrastructure and cloud computing products. Tibco develops software that integrates business applications.
