Rye is a lightweight JavaScript library for DOM and events manipulation as well as touch support. It works in all major browsers, including IE9+. Rye also has an event emitter as well as support for isolated DOM events.

Rye tries to takes the best from other similar JavaScript libraries and tries to implement a new JavaScript library, which is meant for modern browsers. It also tries to take a minimal approach by using stand browser APIs where possible and tries to take advantage of the new version of JavaScript – ES5.

Rye is also modular.  This means that you can build your own custom version of Rye, using only the modules you need, hence keeping the size of the JavaScript library down to a minimum. Rye’s documentation is very extensive as well, making any new adopters find their feet easily. The API is similar to jQuery and Zepto.js’ API.
